We’re excited to welcome two wonderful Nurse Practitioners — Darlene Cornwell and Karen Gordy — to the Lubbock Primary Care team! Both bring years of experience, compassionate care, and a genuine passion for helping patients live healthier, fuller lives.
Darlene Cornwell, FNP-C comes to us with more than 25 years in healthcare. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery and has also worked in the operating room, oncology, and healthcare administration. For the past 13 years, she’s practiced as a Nurse Practitioner and has a special passion for helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause with clarity, confidence, and support. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, staying active, spending time outdoors, and raising her two teenage children with her husband of 20 years.
Karen Gordy, FNP-C has over 20 years of medical experience, including cardiothoracic critical care, the operating room, emergency medicine, and the past decade practicing Family Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner. Originally from Coleman, Texas, she moved to Lubbock in 1999 to attend college at TTUHSC and has been serving patients here ever since. Karen believes aging is simply “leveling up” — a positive journey she enjoys helping patients navigate. She and her husband stay busy with their two kids, who keep life fun and full of laughter.
