What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a procedure that treats small spider and varicose veins by injecting a sclerosing agent (Polidocanol) into the veins. This solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together. Over the following weeks, your body naturally absorbs the treated vein, and blood flow is rerouted to healthier, deeper veins.
Do I qualify for Sclerotherapy?
If you are bothered by the appearance of leg veins or experience mild discomfort (like itching or burning) associated with them, sclerotherapy may be right for you. It is ideal for:
- Spider Veins: The tiny red, blue, or purple "webs" near the surface of the skin.
- Small Varicose Veins: Slightly larger veins that haven't yet become severe.
You must be 21 years or older. We will take a detailed look at your medical history, labs, and Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) measurement to ensure you are a good candidate.
Note: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you do not qualify.
What does Sclerotherapy cost?
Your initial consult will be filed to your insurance. This consult will include the evaluation and TM flow. For treatment thereafter, we are running a winter special of $250 per session through January.
